gotta go to more festivals man..

Verity Kerr took this gem
Shit so that was a lot of fun. Catlins River Festival was really, really amazing. Being a betting man id say there were around 800+ people at the festival all having a great time. heeps of booze, heeps of good music and Iain Sweetmans beard.

We played on the Saturday night (coincidentally the same time a week before at Feastock) after a very tight an energetic Julian Temple Band to a well receiving crowd of 150-200 people? it wasn't a huge crowd but it certainly got fuller as the gig went on.
I broke my snare drum in the second song! which has never happened to me before so that was pretty.. uh sweet. 30 seconds and a round of applause later PMK came rushing down to the stage with his snare for me to use for the rest of the set. The mang.
Highlights for me were of course Nudge, an awesome 3 piece Wellington band fronted by the brilliant Ryan Prebble. He's also part of SPARTICUS R who we've played with before. check them out too. psychedelic goodness
Also Kahu's set in the Food Tent on Sunday night was amazing as well

the damage with stage-hand / sledging extraordinaire Deano Shirriffs

There was a wee write up in the Otago Daily Times about it all the next day. Alizarin were lucky enough to get the "Band Photo" so to speak. check it out :
Festival-Success

Alizarin Lizard Crowd

That's pretty much Alizarins involvement with the Catlins fest, the rest of that night and the next day were full of drinking and the most laughter ive ever experienced.
On Saturday evening Left or Right left on their NUGGETOUR and they took Bugs' and Logan with them so Paul an I are leaving Dunedin on Sunday to meet up with them in Auckland. where we'll start the Oh, Colour Tour on the 4th

Cool, wish i had more stories to tell but everything's just slowly coming back to me. im still trying to get over the fact that its mid-day at the moment when to me it feels like it should be 7pm.
Yeah aye.
Quickly before i go id like to Thank Jock and his Family, The Catlins River Festival Crew and Organisers, Iain Sweetman for being incredible at what he does, Beer, PMK, the bands and DJ's who played that weekend and the people who all battled the cold and came down to the front to see us play.

a whole lot more photos of the day can be seen HERE

speak soon and it'll probably be about posters.
BENJAMIN

for PMK
P.S - if anyone has any pictures of Paul an I's match box drinking game in the food tent from Sunday evening please send them to me. that shit was hilarious

Catlins River Festival Eve

Look at this, We got artist passes! Obviously this is only one of them, but
I can assure you the others look exactly the same, so just copy and paste it in your head 3 times and you should be able to imagine what the complete set might look like. In other news Paul, Shipsy and myself spent several hours lingering around the Uniprint/library area yesterday, but finally emerged with the first run of EP covers printed and ready to be assembled. They look delicious. The only downside is having wait to arrive in Auckland to pick up the EP discs. Waiting sucks. Shit I'm gonna have to write heaps more if I want this text to line up with the picture. Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Uniprint gave us heaps of those old-school Milk Shakes lollies.
These lollies are awesome, don't forget it.
I bought some gumboots, Totally set for some Catlins mud now. I'm a bit cold though, might go get a jersey. See ya later Bugs.
